Conrad Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Washington DC, is a boldly designed luxury hotel recognized as Hilton's Luxury Hotel of the Year for 2022. This Forbes 4-Star property features 360 elegant rooms, 32,000 square feet of sophisticated banquet space, and five unique food and beverage outlets including a signature restaurant, a rooftop bar, a lobby bar, a club lounge, and in-room dining services. The hotel combines striking design with premium hospitality to create memorable experiences for its guests, making it a standout destination for both business and leisure travelers in the nation’s capital.\n\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our exceptional leadership team. This full-time role involves overseeing culinary operations primarily in Estuary and In-Room Dining. The ideal candidate will supervise a team including 2 Sous Chefs and 8 to 10 line-level team members, report directly to the Executive Chef, and contribute significantly to maintaining the hotel's high standards in culinary excellence and guest service. The role offers an annual salary range of $80,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience, and includes medical insurance coverage for you and your family. Various shifts are required, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.\n\nAs Chef de Cuisine, you will lead daily culinary production by ensuring the preparation and presentation of meals meet top quality standards, complying with all safety and sanitation regulations, and managing productivity and cost controls. Additional responsibilities include general management duties, such as budget and forecasting, departmental report generation, meeting participation, and overall department management. The role demands a creative approach for menu development and the ability to uphold superior food quality by selecting the best ingredients. You will also focus on team development through supervision, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of recognition and reward. Candidates with 1 to 2 years of Chef de Cuisine experience, fine dining background, and experience in managing unionized teams are preferred.
