Job Description
Wooden Paddle is a dynamic and rapidly growing restaurant and catering company that has been delighting guests since its inception in 2013. Founded with a clear purpose to be 'The Place You Want to Be,' Wooden Paddle has carved a niche in the culinary world by offering super fun dining experiences centered around shareable, wood-fired comfort foods, artsy cocktails, and an undeniable good-time energy. As a team, they pride themselves on being scrappy go-getters who combine a casual, fun atmosphere with an uncompromising dedication to high-quality food, drinks, and hospitality. With a vision to achieve 10 million good-time guest experiences by 2033, Wooden Paddle is a vibrant and ambitious workplace for culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.
The role of Chef-de-Cuisine at Wooden Paddle is not just a job—it is a leadership position that places you at the helm of the restaurant's kitchen operations. This full-time position offers a salary ranging from $75,000 to $90,000 per year, complemented by bonus pay opportunities tied to sales, profitability, and special project completion. The Chef-de-Cuisine manages a team of culinary talents, striving to build a dream kitchen team filled with the right people who fit the company culture and are passionate about their roles. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining consistent five-star food quality, ensuring impeccable kitchen organization and cleanliness, and keeping food and labor costs on target to guarantee profitability.
On a daily basis, the Chef-de-Cuisine hires and mentors their team, fosters a collaborative environment for creative menu innovation alongside celebrity Chef Patrick Cassata, and oversees kitchen operations with meticulous attention to detail. The company embraces change and innovation, offering a workplace that evolves with industry trends and supports personal and professional growth. Working approximately 50 hours per week, typically over five days with a semi-set schedule including the busiest shifts and special events, the ideal candidate must be flexible and ready for a dynamic role that demands high energy and adaptability.
Wooden Paddle values individuals who bring high energy, resourcefulness, and a serious work ethic but maintain a lighthearted approach to teamwork and leadership. This unique blend of professionalism and positive attitude ensures a collaborative environment where success is a shared goal. Benefits include PPO medical, dental, and vision insurance with significant company contributions, a 401K retirement savings plan with company match, generous paid time off, employee discounts, and various allowances and bonuses designed to support and reward team members. Wooden Paddle also offers opportunities for business coaching and career advancement within a progressive company culture that follows the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to streamline operations and maximize team efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned culinary professional looking to lead, innovate, and grow in an energetic, supportive, and forward-thinking company environment.
