Job Description

Our establishment is a fine-casual dining restaurant located in Wilmington, DE, renowned for delivering an exceptional culinary experience to guests who appreciate quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. We pride ourselves on combining a relaxed environment with sophisticated cooking techniques to create dishes that not only satisfy hunger but also delight the palate. With a dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction, our team works collaboratively to maintain high standards in food preparation, presentation, and overall service.

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team full-time. This role offers a competitive salary starting from $60,000 per year and includes various benefits to support your professional and personal well-being. The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality meals, and managing kitchen staff effectively. This role requires someone with advanced culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of sanitation and safety regulations.

As the Chef de Cuisine, you will study and innovate recipes, set up menus, and prepare dishes that align with our restaurant's vision. You will delegate tasks to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal preparation while maintaining the highest standards of food presentation. Familiarity with advanced cooking techniques, including baking and pastry arts, as well as experience with non-traditional ingredients, will be essential to meet and exceed our guests' expectations.

The role also entails supervising cooks, monitoring food stock and freshness, and modifying recipes to accommodate customers' dietary needs or preferences, such as reducing salt or eliminating dairy. You must maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations and continuously explore new ingredients and cooking methods to enhance our menu offerings. Your ability to remain calm under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and lead by example will be crucial to the success of our kitchen team.

Working in a dynamic, fine-casual restaurant environment, you should be ready to work weekends and contribute to a culture of culinary excellence and innovation. If you have a culinary school diploma and at least five years of professional cooking experience, coupled with strong leadership and time management skills, you will thrive in this role.

The position includes bonus pay opportunities and offers a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental insurance, paid time off, 401(k) matching, and employee discounts, among others. Candidates must be willing to reliably commute or relocate to Wilmington, DE before starting work. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and talented chef to grow their career in a supportive and rewarding environment.
