The role of Chef de Cuisine at The Woodlands Golf & Country Club’s Palmer Course represents a unique opportunity for a culinary professional to join an esteemed culinary team and play a critical part in the Food & Beverage department. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Chef de Cuisine will partner closely to oversee and direct culinary operations ensuring that high standards of food quality, presentation, and service are consistently met. This leadership role is imperative for maintaining seamless kitchen operations, supervising staff, and integrating culinary creativity with operational efficiency.

The position demands a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and who possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The Chef de Cuisine will contribute to menu development, manage kitchen sanitation and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and work diligently to meet financial targets through effective budget management and inventory control. The role also involves direct interaction with guests to ensure satisfaction and rapid response to requests. This position requires flexibility in working schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support the club’s events and service demands.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a lead culinary role
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Food service permit as required by local or state government agency
  • ServSafe certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to review budgets, revenues, inventories and requisitions
  • Problem-solving and leadership abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a lead culinary role
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree, culinary degree or certificate preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
  • Experience supervising others and leading a team preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with the national programs such as Menu Program, Approved Product List and Inventory procedures
  • Responsible for selection, development and retention of talented culinary staff
  • Supervise employees in the daily operation of the kitchen to ensure quality and timeliness of product
  • Ensure financial targets are being met and appropriate accounting procedures are being followed consistently
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner
  • Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Ensure kitchen is clean and sanitary and is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws
  • Required to work any position in the kitchen as needed
  • Required to assist in creating menus, custom menus, features and more as needed
  • Maintains constant communication between departments and keeps other departments informed about special programs and events
