This full-time opportunity is for a supervisory role within PENN Entertainment's culinary operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a designated shift, ensuring high standards for food quality, customer service, and operational efficiency. They will oversee the daily management of kitchen staff, develop and produce menu items, and maintain cost control measures to meet budgetary goals. This role requires a proactive manager who can create effective schedules while maintaining labor costs, supporting compliance to departmental budgets, and monitoring performance objectives related to both profit and customer satisfaction. Additionally, adherence to health department standards and regulatory compliance is critical, with the expectation to maintain strict confidentiality on company matters.
This position demands excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook. The candidate should be capable of handling financial computations related to inventory control and cost management, as well as preparing reports and business correspondences. Problem-solving skills and the ability to interact diplomatically and tactfully with guests, staff, and management are essential. Flexibility to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required to accommodate the business's operational demands.

Job Requirements
- Associate degree (A.A.) in culinary or related field
- minimum of four years culinary experience in multiple venues
- minimum of three years supervisory experience
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- fluent and literate in English
- proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- ability to write reports and business correspondence
- ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- strong math skills including all units of measure, fractions, decimals, ratios, and percent
- ability to interact diplomatically with guests and staff
- ability to work collaboratively
- availability to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree (A.A.) in culinary or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum of four years of culinary experience in multiple venues
- minimum of three years of previous supervisory experience

- ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Job Duties
- Achieves desired results through established methods, procedures, and guidelines to maintain established standards and high-quality service

- supports, administers, and manages operational goals, and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives

- develops and produces menu items as listed in each restaurant
- follows all prep lists and ensures kitchens are stocked and ready for service
- assists in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations
- supports compliance to departmental budget initiatives
- reports budget concerns to manager
- enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with departmental and company standards and programs
- ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise
- responsible for maintaining cost control methods and procedures by monitoring consistent pars and inventory
- responsible for maintaining established quality assurance procedures to ensure acceptable health department and customer service standards
- responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to management
- maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
