The company is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where equal employment opportunity is a cornerstone, ensuring that all employees are treated with respect and provided opportunities for growth without discrimination. With a strong focus on employee development, Aramark nurtures talents and fuels passions, making it an ideal environment for professionals seeking career advancement and meaningful work experiences.
Within Aramark, the LifeWorks Restaurant Group acts as an independently operated division that crafts custom solutions to enhance client amenities through innovative and sensory culinary experiences. This group specializes in elevating company culture through thoughtfully designed food services, from initial concept and space design to marketing and delivery. LifeWorks Restaurant Group's emphasis on transparency with clients and commitment to quality ensures that every dining experience is not just a service but a unique event.
The role of Campus Support Chef at Aramark is a dynamic and influential culinary leadership position. This role operates across various campus dining locations, primarily focusing on supporting high-volume catering and AIR MI operations. Scheduled typically from mid-morning until early evening, this position demands flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and extensive culinary expertise. The Campus Support Chef plays a pivotal role in mid-day to early evening service windows and is designed to be a developmental role, providing exposure to multiple Chef de Cuisines and Executive Chefs. This exposure allows for broadening of culinary knowledge and leadership competencies.
In this role, the Campus Support Chef is responsible for hands-on culinary production and leadership during peak catering periods, ensuring that food quality, presentation, and operational standards are consistently upheld to meet the brand and client expectations. The chef supports the launch of new operations, pop-ups, and special events, demonstrating adaptability to various kitchen environments and service demands. Operationally, the Campus Support Chef also provides coverage for management absences, leads prep teams and hourly culinary staff, and upholds stringent food safety and sanitation protocols.
The role requires a blend of culinary skill, leadership acumen, and flexibility to move seamlessly between different kitchen cultures while promoting a positive team environment. Communication, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative culture are critical aspects of the position. The Campus Support Chef is expected to embody a solutions-focused mindset and contribute actively to continuous operational improvements and exceptional guest experiences.
As part of Aramark's team, the Campus Support Chef benefits from a culture that values career growth, diversity, and a meaningful workplace experience. The company encourages embracing new skills and challenges, underlining that job duties may sometimes shift to meet evolving business needs, which contributes to a stimulating and ever-changing work environment. This role is a valuable opportunity for culinary professionals aiming to advance in the hospitality and food service industry within a reputable and expansive global organization.
