The role of Chef/Café Program Coordinator is integral to the success of this community-driven initiative. This position involves overseeing all aspects of meal preparation and kitchen operations for the community dinner program. The Chef/Café Program Coordinator will be responsible for menu planning, ensuring nutritious and appealing meals are crafted to meet the needs of the guests. They will also manage food inventory, coordinate purchasing, and organize the kitchen to maintain efficiency. One of the critical responsibilities includes leading and coordinating volunteers during meal service, ensuring smooth operations and a collaborative environment. Working approximately 32 hours per week, primarily during evening meal services on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, this position also requires flexibility to accommodate special events and holiday meals. Physical stamina is a necessity due to the nature of kitchen work, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. The role requires someone who is not only skilled in cooking and food service but also capable of managing people and resources efficiently.
