Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years of relevant dining experience
- valid state food preparation license
- ability to pass health and sanitation inspections
- proficiency in computer skills including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, move freely, operate kitchen equipment, and reach overhead
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Two years of dining experience in healthcare, hospitality, or senior care community
- state required food preparation license
- strong knowledge of federal, state, and facility regulations on sanitation and infection control
- associate's degree in culinary arts with 3-5 years experience
- accredited culinary training with 5-7 years experience
- ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
- applicable state licensure
- general knowledge of laws and restrictions relating to assisted living, memory care, and independent living
- customer service and hospitality skills
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve appealing, nutritious, and heart-healthy meals
- ensure sanitation and cleanliness of all food service areas
- maintain accurate record keeping for food inventory, receiving, and rotation of products
- comply with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding food safety and infection control
- report to the Dining Manager to enhance residents' dining experience
- assist in departmental operation and food preparation
- promote a high level of customer service and hospitality
