Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two years of relevant dining experience
  • valid state food preparation license
  • ability to pass health and sanitation inspections
  • proficiency in computer skills including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, move freely, operate kitchen equipment, and reach overhead
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of dining experience in healthcare, hospitality, or senior care community
  • state required food preparation license
  • strong knowledge of federal, state, and facility regulations on sanitation and infection control
  • associate's degree in culinary arts with 3-5 years experience
  • accredited culinary training with 5-7 years experience
  • ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • applicable state licensure
  • general knowledge of laws and restrictions relating to assisted living, memory care, and independent living
  • customer service and hospitality skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve appealing, nutritious, and heart-healthy meals
  • ensure sanitation and cleanliness of all food service areas
  • maintain accurate record keeping for food inventory, receiving, and rotation of products
  • comply with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding food safety and infection control
  • report to the Dining Manager to enhance residents' dining experience
  • assist in departmental operation and food preparation
  • promote a high level of customer service and hospitality
