Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience working in professional kitchens
- ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- leadership qualities with a focus on team development
- good organizational and planning skills
- familiarity with p and l statements
- commitment to maintaining safety and hygiene regulations
- physical stamina to perform kitchen duties
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a chef in a similar restaurant environment
- strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to innovate and create appealing menus
- solid understanding of budget management and cost control
- effective communication and training skills
- culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
Job Duties
- Create menus
- direct the food prep process
- plan and order ingredients and necessary equipment
- arrange for kitchen repairs when needed
- use p and l statements to effectively manage costs and meet budgets
- hire, manage, and train kitchen staff
- oversee kitchen staff, looking for opportunities to counsel or coach
- foster cooperation, collaboration and respect
- have knowledge of and enforce all safety and sanitation requirements
