Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary experience
  • Ability to travel to Dayton, Ohio for classes
  • Availability for twice-monthly sessions around 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Clear background check
  • Ability to work well with special needs individuals
  • Good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a professional chef or culinary instructor
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning abilities
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition and food safety standards
  • Patience and enthusiasm for teaching cooking skills

Job Duties

  • Plan and prepare cooking demonstration classes tailored for special needs participants
  • Conduct engaging and educational cooking sessions twice monthly
  • Demonstrate safe food handling and cooking techniques
  • Adapt recipes and teaching methods to accommodate varying ability levels
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with agency staff to coordinate class schedules and participant needs
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cooking space before and after classes
