Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • culinary degree or certification preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • strong organizational skills
  • physical stamina to handle kitchen demands
  • attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • proven experience as a head chef or similar role
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen management
  • ability to design creative menus
  • knowledge of budgeting and cost management
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • create menus
  • direct the food prep process
  • plan and order ingredients and necessary equipment
  • arrange for kitchen repairs when needed
  • use profit and loss statements to effectively manage costs and meet budgets
  • hire, manage, and train kitchen staff
  • oversee kitchen staff, looking for opportunities to counsel or coach
  • foster cooperation, collaboration and respect
  • have knowledge of and enforce all safety and sanitation requirements
