The role of the Culinary Business Consultant at Cheney Brothers is instrumental in building strong customer relationships through a consultative, one-on-one approach. This position focuses on becoming a trusted partner to customers by understanding their business needs and helping them succeed through expert guidance in menu redesign, employee training, and the development of promotion and merchandising programs. The consultant plays a key role in driving controlled brand sales while also supporting customer training, advertising, promotions, food shows, brand product selections, and special customer events. Additionally, the role may involve managing on-site lunch programs wherever applicable. As an active team member, the Culinary Business Consultant is expected to perform various duties beyond their core responsibilities to best serve the company and contribute to its overall success.

In this role, the consultant serves as a knowledgeable business partner for customers, promoting loyalty and sales by offering informative and professional assistance. Responsibilities include mentoring and training others on food concepts through in-house seminars and writing customer training materials. The consultant also designs customer menus, develops innovative ideas tailored to customer needs, and cooks for special events. Engaging directly with customers and vendors, this position demands friendly, timely, and accurate communication to nurture long-term business relationships. The consultant also evaluates food and labor cost efficiencies, monitors customer service standards, and continuously expands their expertise in cooking-related activities. Job Requirements

  • bachelors degree in culinary arts, hotel/restaurant management or related area
  • 4-6 years of culinary arts, hotel restaurant, and/or food service industry experience
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to mentor and lead teams
  • experience with menu design and customer training
  • knowledge of food cost and labor cost evaluation
  • familiarity with customer relationship management
  • capacity to work in a team-oriented environment
  • willingness to perform various duties as assigned

Job Qualifications
