This private chef opportunity is set in Bernardsville, NJ, ideal for a culinary professional who enjoys working in dynamic outdoor environments. This role is centered around preparing and cooking for a private backyard party hosting approximately 30 guests. The event will be casual and festive, emphasizing high-quality food and an enjoyable dining experience. The setting includes a well-equipped outdoor kitchen featuring a pizza oven, grill, and smoker, providing the chef with versatile cooking options and the opportunity to showcase creativity in grilling, smoking, and artisan pizza-making. Ingredients will be supplied by the client in advance, allowing the chef to focus on the art of preparation, cooking, serving, and cleanup.
The private chef will work within a schedule from 2:00 PM until late evening, tailoring the meal to suit the atmosphere of a relaxed and celebratory gathering. The menu will likely include artisan pizzas, burgers (classic, gourmet, or sliders), smoked or grilled shrimp, and other BBQ favorites, with flexibility for creative sides, salads, and appetizers in consultation with the client. This role requires experience in handling medium-sized groups, comfort with outdoor cooking equipment like pizza ovens, grills, and smokers, and the ability to manage all aspects of food service from prep to cleanup efficiently. The chef will be responsible for delivering a memorable dining experience that complements the outdoor party setting while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience as a private chef or similar role
- familiarity with outdoor kitchen setups
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle cooking equipment
- availability on May 29th from 2:00 pm onwards
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced event environment
- reliable and punctual
