Aramark’s Workplace Experience Group includes the Portfolio Group, which delivers seamless experiences from the breakroom to the boardroom by offering a tailored suite of services for each unique business portfolio. One of the critical roles within this group is the Chef de Cuisine, who acts as the lead culinary person responsible for overseeing all culinary operations at a specific location. The Chef de Cuisine plays a pivotal role by ensuring the highest culinary standards are maintained while supervising and coordinating kitchen activities and staff. This role also involves menu planning, recipe development, food cost estimation, and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Job Requirements
- At least 2-3 years experience in a related culinary position
- Completion of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
- Advanced knowledge of culinary principles and practices
- Experience managing kitchen staff and operations
- Strong verbal, reading, and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and train kitchen personnel
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- Requires at least 2-3 years in a related position
- Requires at least 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
- Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
- Requires verbal, reading, and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Trains and leads kitchen personnel
- Supervises and coordinates all related culinary activities
- Estimates food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Selects and develops recipes and standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establishes presentation technique and quality standards, and plans and prices menus
- Ensures proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Oversees special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrate culinary techniques
