The Tasting Room Check-In role is an integral part of the guest experience at Leoness Cellars. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests and Members arriving for tastings, private tours, and seating on the Members' Terrace. Responsibilities include managing wine tasting sales, membership bottle pick-ups, and merchandise sales, making the role essential in driving revenue and ensuring visitor satisfaction. The ideal candidate is upbeat, adaptable, and knowledgeable about the winery's services to provide top-notch customer service and support the Tasting Room Managers effectively. This role requires proficiency with Wine Direct software and cashiering skills to handle financial transactions accurately. Additionally, the Check-In associate will rotate between working behind the Check-In register and assisting with Member Terrace seating. They are expected to maintain a positive atmosphere even during busy periods, showcasing integrity, dependability, and flexibility. This position also involves light physical duties such as lifting between 35 to 70 pounds and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Tasting Room.

Job Duties

  • Selling wine tastings
  • Checking in Members for tastings or to be seated on the Members' Terrace
  • Checking in guests for private tours and tastings
  • Completing Seater tickets to provide accurate Member information to Members' Terrace Servers
  • Selling wine, Memberships, and gift shop merchandise
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized Tasting Room, must be able to lift 35 to 70 lbs
  • Knowledge of Wine Direct: Post registers, input new Members, track shipping, look up account information for Members, adjust gratuity, send notes to Membership
  • Proficiency in MS Office needed, and Cashier skills including, but not limited to compiling and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift
  • Perform various financial activities such as cash handling, tipping out Staff at the end of day, deposit preparation
  • Supervise and participate in service bar area cleaning activities
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding wine service
  • Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service
  • Following opening and closing Tasting Room procedures
  • Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned
