The role of First Officer/Second in Command (SIC) at George J. Priester Aviation is critical to maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the company’s aircraft. This position entails assisting the Pilot in Command (PIC) with all flight duties, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and industry best practices. The SIC acts as a vital collaborator in flight planning, weather analysis, and navigation, contributing to a seamless and secure flight conduct. Job Requirements
- must be available to report to the departure airport within 60 minutes for charter flight assignments
- ability to lift, push, or pull over 50 pounds when handling baggage and equipment
- must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel for extended periods as required by the flight schedule
Job Qualifications
- commercial pilot certificate with multi-engine instrument rating or higher
- current first-class medical certificate
- 500-2500 total flight hours including at least 100 hours in multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft
- turbine experience preferred
- strong working knowledge of FAA regulations and flight operations procedures
- excellent communication and decision-making skills
- proficiency in crew resource management and flight management systems
Job Duties
- assist in flight operations including weather analysis, routing, aircraft performance calculations, and pre-flight inspections
- monitor instrumentation and aircraft systems during all phases of flight
- operate navigational and communication radios as directed by the pilot in command
- maintain crew resource management, including coordination and communication with flight crew
- participate actively in the company’s safety management system to identify and mitigate risks
- conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections and ensure aircraft readiness
- provide excellent customer service and support passenger needs throughout the flight
