Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a technologically advanced acute care facility with 224 beds, located in Hampton, Virginia. We are currently seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join our dynamic and growing team at Sentara CarePlex Hospital. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced anesthesia professionals to work in a supportive and technologically equipped environment while providing anesthesia care across a broad spectrum of surgical cases. CRNAs at Sentara CarePlex play a critical role in ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout perioperative procedures. Offering flexibility with 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts and a first call off-site on-call system, this position accommodates a variety of work-life schedules.

The annual caseload is robust, with over 6,300 cases including more than 350 obstetrical cases each year. The anesthesia care team consists of 5 physicians and more than 13 CRNAs, working collaboratively to provide anesthesia services in various specialties. Sentara CarePlex utilizes a fully integrated electronic health record system (Epic), enhancing workflow efficiency and clinical documentation. This environment supports CRNAs in delivering high-quality care while participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Valid CRNA certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a nurse anesthetist
  • Current RN license in the state of Virginia
  • Ability to work various shifts including 8, 10, and 12-hour schedules
  • Willingness to participate in first call off-site on-call duties

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) credential
  • Current state licensure as a registered nurse
  • Experience with a wide range of anesthesia techniques
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, preferably Epic
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Job Duties

  • Provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical procedures
