Job Requirements
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English except in Puerto Rico
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours
- Ability to follow state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Ability to operate pharmacy systems and cash registers accurately
- Ability to engage with customers and resolve issues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies
- Commitment to complete ongoing training and certification
- Physical ability to handle pharmacy inventory and assist in clinical services
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of PTCB training program or state required certification
- Experience in pharmacy or retail environment preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
- Competent computer skills
- Knowledge of store inventory control preferred
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in pharmacy practice
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
- Engage customers and patients by greeting and assisting with products and services
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure positive experience
- Assist in filling prescriptions accurately by retrieving, counting, pouring, and verifying medicines
- Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist and adhere to company policies
- Register sales, handle cash transactions, and assist with locating OTC products
- Handle telephone calls not requiring pharmacist's attention, including physician calls
- Process manual claims for third party prescription programs
- Assist in inventory management activities including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals
- Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques and file claims for discrepancies
- Assist in administering clinical services and coordinating with healthcare providers
- Help develop and maintain relationships with local medical community
- Maintain pharmacy department's appearance and stock levels
- Comply with company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships
- Complete special assignments as required
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification and attend trainings for continuing education
- Maintain healthcare and pharmacy knowledge including latest developments
