Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current CNA certification
- experience in a caregiving role preferred
- ability to work part-time or full-time hours including weekends
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- physical ability to provide personal care
- strong observational skills
- reliable transportation for community outings
Job Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently
- compassionate and patient demeanor
- valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
Job Duties
- Participate and at times lead client habilitation and active treatment
- administer medications and treatments as directed by the RN including feeding and medications via G-tube and J-tube
- assist in taking clients to appointments and tracking medical needs and reporting them appropriately
- assist clients with ADLs as prescribed in the Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and provide direct care
- assist clients in preparing for their daily programs
- implement assigned recreational activities
- prepare client's meals and snacks according to regulatory guidelines, dietitian recommendations and physicians' orders
- assist taking clients on field trips and other activities that get the clients out of the house and into the community
