Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • current CNA certification
  • experience in a caregiving role preferred
  • ability to work part-time or full-time hours including weekends
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • physical ability to provide personal care
  • strong observational skills
  • reliable transportation for community outings

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
  • ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently
  • compassionate and patient demeanor
  • valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred

Job Duties

  • Participate and at times lead client habilitation and active treatment
  • administer medications and treatments as directed by the RN including feeding and medications via G-tube and J-tube
  • assist in taking clients to appointments and tracking medical needs and reporting them appropriately
  • assist clients with ADLs as prescribed in the Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and provide direct care
  • assist clients in preparing for their daily programs
  • implement assigned recreational activities
  • prepare client's meals and snacks according to regulatory guidelines, dietitian recommendations and physicians' orders
  • assist taking clients on field trips and other activities that get the clients out of the house and into the community
