Job Description
Hawaiian Bros is a vibrant and fast-growing restaurant specializing in fresh, island-inspired dishes that bring the spirit and flavors of Hawaii to Portland, Oregon. Operating out of Grand Ave Food Co, located at 1125 SE Grand Ave, Portland, OR 97214, Hawaiian Bros is known for its warm hospitality and commitment to delivering a unique dining experience that feels like a tropical getaway. The restaurant embraces the spirit of aloha, not only in its food but in its service style, team culture, and overall guest experience. This establishment is a part of a larger community-focused network, aiming to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for both customers and employees alike. As a Certified Leader at Hawaiian Bros, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the standards and values that make this brand special.
In the role of Certified Leader, you serve as the captain of the shift, overseeing daily restaurant operations and motivating your team to achieve excellence in service and quality. You will be the central point of contact between the general manager and the crew, ensuring that each member understands their roles and remains engaged and productive. This position offers hourly pay at $20 plus tips, reflecting the importance of leadership in creating memorable customer experiences and smooth operational flow. Your responsibilities include managing opening and closing duties such as cash management and inventory control, supervising and training new hires, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
The Certified Leader is expected to embody the aloha spirit by leading with warmth, positivity, and enthusiasm—qualities that are essential to fostering a supportive and fun work environment. Your leadership helps cultivate team morale, celebrate successes, and encourage professional growth among crew members. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in handling multiple priorities efficiently, from managing customer concerns appropriately to ensuring the kitchen and front-of-house work in harmony. Flexibility in working nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary, as is a genuine passion for Hawaiian culture and the island vibe that Hawaiian Bros promotes.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about leadership in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting and who enjoy mentoring others to deliver exceptional service. Hawaiian Bros also offers competitive pay, performance-based incentives, free food, and a family-like atmosphere where career advancement is encouraged for those who exemplify leadership and commitment. Working at Hawaiian Bros means joining a team that not only serves great food but also champions positive energy, respect, and aloha in every interaction, making it a rewarding career choice for dynamic, service-oriented leaders.
