Job Description

The Marshes of Skidaway Island is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to providing exceptional care and a warm, welcoming environment for its residents. Known for its beautiful campus and commitment to hospitality, The Marshes offers a relationship-focused culture where staff and residents truly know and support one another. This community is rooted in compassion, excellence, and personalized service, making it a remarkable place for both residents and employees alike. The Marshes takes pride in its mission to enrich the lives of older adults through meaningful connections and high-quality care, fostering a sense of belonging and well-being. Employees at The Marshes have the opportunity to make a significant impact every day in a supportive environment that values teamwork, respect, and integrity.

We are currently seeking a Certified Dietary / Kitchen Manager to join our team in a hospitality-focused role. This position plays a vital part in delivering exceptional dining experiences tailored to the individual preferences and needs of our residents. As a key leader within our dining services, you will support our mission by ensuring all food service operations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance while promoting a home-like dining atmosphere. Your role will involve managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, food production, inventory management, and ordering. Collaboration with nursing, wellness, and culinary teams is essential to support the health and nutritional goals of each resident.

Beyond the day-to-day management of food service, this position requires a warm, people-centered leadership style. Building strong, positive relationships with residents and their families is central to enhancing their dining experience and overall quality of life. You will conduct interviews and gather dietary histories to understand each resident’s food preferences, using Resident Satisfaction Surveys as a tool to continually improve service. Your responsibilities also include participation in multidisciplinary committees such as the Nutrition at Risk Committee and the Skin/Wound Care Committee, as well as attending Resident Care Plan Conferences. Additionally, you will provide counseling on nutritional issues to residents and assist in developing training programs for the dining staff.

The ideal candidate will hold a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential and Food Safety and Sanitation (ServSafe) certification, with a minimum of two years’ experience in kitchen and dietary management within a health care or senior living setting. We seek a compassionate professional who is passionate about enriching the lives of older adults through hospitality and engagement, demonstrating excellent communication and teamwork skills. Employment with The Marshes offers a full benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, scholarship opportunities, an annual bonus program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. If you are enthusiastic about senior care and hospitality and want to contribute to a vibrant community where your work truly matters, we encourage you to apply.
