Employees of the USO benefit from generous paid time off policies including volunteer days and military leave, a remarkable 401k matching program, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth through training and education reimbursement. Staff members are passionate about the mission and work in a collaborative environment that fosters both personal and professional fulfillment. The USO does not view employment with the organization as merely a job, but rather a calling, offering employees the chance to do work that has powerful meaning and impact.
The position of Center Operations Manager at the USO carries significant responsibility and impact. Located in Jacksonville, FL (NAS), this role involves overseeing the daily operations of one or more USO Centers and managing the planning and execution of programs, events, and activities in surrounding locations. Communication is key, as the role requires collaboration with internal teams, military leadership, community partners, donors, and media representatives to elevate awareness of the USO mission and support fundraising efforts.
This position demands a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal and leadership skills who can navigate complex environments and diverse stakeholders. Candidates ideally come with experience in business operations, event management, or marketing, preferably within nonprofit, military, multicultural, or global organizations. Fluency in English and proficiency with technology platforms including Microsoft Office and volunteer management software is essential, with additional language skills considered a plus.
