Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years work experience in administrative, event management, marketing support, retail, customer service or related role
  • Must be punctual, organized and self-motivated
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications
  • General knowledge of military community preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact
  • Working knowledge of basic business functions and cash handling
  • General knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Ability to design and format promotional materials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials and valid driver’s license
  • Must advocate for the USO’s mission

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years work experience in administrative, event management, marketing support, retail, customer service or related role
  • Relevant experience in not-for-profit, military, multicultural or global organization preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • General knowledge of military community preferred
  • Ability to design and format promotional materials
  • Proficiency using computers, Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • Familiarity with Digital Cheetah and desktop publishing software preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary credentials including valid driver’s license and security clearances

Job Duties

  • Meet and welcome guests, and orient them to the Center and its offerings
  • Assist with operational procedures including opening and closing, key control, emergency preparedness compliance
  • Monitor and maintain readiness and availability of the Center and its activity and lounge areas
  • Help to plan and execute programs, activities and events ensuring volunteer coverage and supplies
  • Assist with communicating Center operations and programs through flyers, brochures, posters, and social media
  • Answer and screen telephone calls, respond to emails, produce and maintain reports, files and databases
  • Guide, train and act as a resource for volunteers, and process cash or credit card sales
  • Operate USO or personal motor vehicle as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned including backfilling for Center Operations Specialists
