Job Description

Amrize North America Inc. is a leading player in the cement manufacturing industry, known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and operational excellence. Operating the Whitehall Cement Plant in Pennsylvania, Amrize is dedicated to producing high-quality cement products that serve various construction and infrastructure projects. The company values building inclusive workspaces and fosters an environment that encourages creativity, technical development, and career growth. With a strong emphasis on health, safety, and environmental responsibility, Amrize ensures all employees work in a culture that promotes safety and sustainability while offering opportunities for both personal and professional advancement.

The Cement Technician/Laborer role at Amrize's Whitehall Cement Plant is essential to maintaining the continuous supply of kiln tires critical for the cement production process. This position involves working hands-on with the tire delivery systems, managing tasks such as loading tires from trucks onto hooks, maneuvering trailers, and ensuring empty trailers are properly removed from the dock and replaced with full ones. The role demands physical stamina, keen attention to safety protocols, and the ability to operate heavy equipment like yard tractors, forklifts, and bobcats.

Candidates stepping into the Cement Technician position will engage in various responsibilities ranging from performing safety checks and completing paperwork, to assisting with plant housekeeping and reporting unusual operational circumstances promptly to supervisors. The position requires adherence to rotating shifts across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts to ensure continuous operation and maintenance of the tire delivery system. It also heavily emphasizes the commitment to safety, requiring employees to wear Amrize-approved personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, and to maintain appropriate physical conditions such as being clean-shaven to pass respirator fit tests.

This is a physically demanding role where individuals must be capable of lifting heavy tires, working in extreme temperature conditions, and navigating challenging work environments such as stairs, ladders, and catwalks. Candidates are expected to deliver reliable, safe, and efficient performance while promoting a culture that prioritizes health, safety, and environmental consciousness. Amrize fosters an inclusive workplace where all employees are valued for their qualifications, merit, and dedication, reinforcing equal opportunity principles without discrimination.

By joining Amrize, Cement Technicians/Laborers not only contribute to a critical aspect of cement production but also become part of a larger community focused on innovation, diversity, and career development. The company offers a supportive environment that helps employees build skills, enhance their knowledge, and achieve their professional ambitions in a collaborative and respectful setting. If you are ready to engage in a hands-on role that offers daily challenges and the opportunity to grow with a top-tier cement manufacturing firm, Amrize's Whitehall Cement Plant is the place to make your mark.
