Job Description
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a distinguished event marketing company that specializes in providing in-store marketing and sales services, particularly known as the preferred in-house event marketing provider to Costco. As an industry leader, CDS focuses on person-to-person marketing services, driving sales growth for their clients and Costco through engaging product demonstrations and promotional events. The company prides itself on delivering a blend of expert marketing strategies and outstanding customer service, creating a bridge between manufacturers, suppliers, and consumers to ensure the best products gain visibility and traction in the marketplace. CDS is committed to creating an enriching work environment with a strong emphasis on work-life balance, full-time employment benefits, and career growth opportunities for its team members. They operate primarily within retail, hospitality, and consumer packaged goods sectors, managing promotional events and product demonstrations in diverse retail environments including grocery stores, mass merchandise outlets, club stores, and specialty shops across North America.
The role of the Event Manager at CDS is crucial to the success of the company’s marketing efforts. This full-time position involves managing the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of part-time in-store Product Demonstrators who are responsible for showcasing products to consumers. The Event Manager will oversee all aspects of product preparation and presentation, ensuring that demonstrations are executed effectively while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. Exceptional communication skills are vital for this role as the manager will serve as the communication hub among warehouse managers, vendors, and demonstrators. The role requires coordination during new store openings and promotional events, emphasizing leadership capabilities to maintain high-performing teams and deliver superior service to club members. The position operates on a scheduled workweek from Tuesday to Saturday, typically from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM but may vary based on business needs.
In addition to the hands-on leadership responsibilities, the Event Manager will collaborate with district managers to evaluate event performance metrics such as sales, operational costs, and labor efficiency to implement effective strategies that achieve revenue and net income objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in retail, hospitality, or food-related environments with proven leadership and communication skills that promote a positive and productive work culture. Expertise in coaching, independent judgment, and adaptability in a fast-paced workplace is essential to thrive in this role. The company offers excellent benefits including comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off, creating a supportive professional atmosphere to foster employee growth and satisfaction.
This Event Manager position at CDS not only demands operational excellence and leadership acumen but also a passion for customer engagement and brand representation. It is an opportunity for professionals who aim to make a direct impact on sales and customer experiences through well-executed product demonstrations within a collaborative and innovative team environment. Candidates interested in joining CDS and contributing to their outstanding event marketing services are encouraged to apply as the position will remain open until filled.
