Job Description

Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a leading event marketing and sales agency specializing in providing in-store product demonstration and promotional services. Established as the preferred in-house event marketing provider to Costco, CDS offers unparalleled person-to-person marketing experiences that effectively drive sales for its customers and Costco alike. Serving a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, club, specialty, and convenience stores, CDS bridges the gap between manufacturers and retailers, ensuring consumers have access to the best products in the marketplace. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive work environment, offering stable full-time employment with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, and a 401(k) plan with generous paid time off. The role involves a set schedule of Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, although some flexibility is required based on operational needs.

The Event Manager at CDS plays a vital role in the organization's success by recruiting, hiring, and supervising in-store Product Demonstrators who are responsible for showcasing products to customers. This individual will oversee all aspects of product preparation and presentation, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards when applicable. The role demands strong communication and coordination between warehouse managers, vendors, and the demonstrators to guarantee seamless execution of promotional events. In addition, the Event Manager will participate in grand openings of new store locations, contributing to the company's expanding presence and outreach.

Essential responsibilities include directing all activities involved in successful promotional events, managing sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards. The manager must communicate strategies and tactics effectively to achieve sales goals and operational excellence, collaborating with district management to analyze performance metrics such as sales, labor hours, and expenses. Leadership capabilities are crucial as the Event Manager hires, trains, coaches, and develops team members, fostering a productive work environment that supports individual and company growth. Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and a professional food handler certification under NEHA standards are required for compliance and operational effectiveness.

Candidates for this position should possess an associate degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business administration, or related fields. A preferred bachelor's degree strengthens candidacy, especially with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in client-side branded consumer packaged goods companies or a combination of supplier-side and client-side roles. Strong leadership abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a track record of building and maintaining relationships with customers and clients are integral to succeeding in this role. The position involves a physically demanding work environment requiring the ability to spend significant hours on feet, lift up to 50 pounds, handle food preparation where relevant, and work in conditions such as refrigerated or freezer sections. Travel and driving may also be necessary.

The Company promotes equal employment opportunities and provides reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities. This Event Manager role offers a dynamic career path within a fast-paced industry, offering stability, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional development within an established and respected company.
