Job Description

E.A. Sween is a respected, third-generation family-owned company committed to delivering high-quality fresh food products to convenience stores and other outlets. Established in 1955, the company has grown through a blend of tradition and professional management, fostering a work environment that values every team member not only for their skills but also for who they are. E.A. Sween's long-standing mission is to passionately feed millions daily with fresh, enjoyable food, supported by a culture that emphasizes respect, inclusivity, and employee appreciation. This family-first approach creates a welcoming atmosphere where employees are empowered to bring their full selves to work, highlighting a people-first culture that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

The role of Overnight CDL Route Driver at E.A. Sween offers a hands-on, active position beyond just driving, with an hourly wage of $29.00. This consistent scheduling role demands reliability and efficiency in delivering fresh food products such as sandwiches, milk, bread, and bakery items to assigned convenience stores during the overnight hours. The driver starts the shift at 6:00 PM and works weekends and holidays, providing an essential service that supports the company's commitment to timely, high-quality deliveries. This position requires managing routes effectively using GPS and written directions, operating electronic tablets for product counts and check-ins, and maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the truck. The driver also helps in warehouse operations, including loading and unloading products and completing necessary paperwork in warehouse conditions ranging from 38 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Safety is paramount in this role, where daily truck inspections, adherence to safety protocols, and proper handling of products during transport are crucial. The role requires strong physical endurance, as it involves frequent lifting of products up to 75 lbs, pushing and pulling loads up to 300 lbs with a dolly, and performing constant bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching. The ideal driver is customer-focused, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional service with courtesy at every customer interaction. The company emphasizes a team-oriented approach where transparency, constructive communication, and a willingness to grow professionally are valued. Success at E.A. Sween means valuing people, committing to safety, investing in company goals, thinking before acting, embracing honest communication, delivering excellent service, and enjoying the work environment, all essential values that a candidate will embody in this route driver role.
