Job Description
Mega Disposal, a division of Waste Connections, is currently hiring for a CDL Route Driver to join their expanding team in Seekonk, Massachusetts. This CDL Route Driver role is critical in ensuring efficient and safe waste collection operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a garbage truck safely along designated routes, servicing customers by following assigned route sheets or dispatcher instructions. In addition to driving, the driver must perform pre- and post-route vehicle inspections, checking essential safety equipment, fluids, and tires, to maintain optimal vehicle condition. Maintaining courteous and professional interactions with customers during service is also a key expectation of this position.
The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $27.50, with a schedule starting at 5:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday work as needed. This role is overtime eligible and comes with numerous benefits designed to support employee well-being and financial security, such as weekly pay, paid training, and annual boot allowances. Job Duties
- Safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste
- Reading route sheets and servicing each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher
- Performing routine post and pre route inspections on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires
- Having professional and courteous interactions with our customers when needed
- Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
