The company is recognized not only for its expansive product offerings covering fresh produce, dairy, meats, and other perishable goods but also for its focus on employee growth, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work environment.
The role of a CDL Delivery Driver at FreshPoint is an essential position within the organization, offering the opportunity to work locally with the advantage of being home daily. These drivers play a vital role in the distribution network, responsible for delivering fresh products safely and efficiently to various customers on scheduled routes. This full-time position involves running daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks, and unloading products at each customer site in accordance with designated route orders. The job offers an earning potential of up to $92,000 annually, reflecting performance and experience, making it a lucrative opportunity in the transportation and logistics sector.
CDL Delivery Drivers at FreshPoint work under a cross-dock model, which involves picking up assigned trucks from a loading dock and returning empty trucks to designated lots after completing routes. Often working away from the primary operating company location, drivers operate at domiciled points closer to customer marketplaces. This customer-facing role requires excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering the highest level of service. Drivers must navigate varying weather conditions and physical challenges such as lifting and moving products weighing up to 100 pounds, which demands physical stamina and safety awareness.
FreshPoint is committed to the professional development of its employees, offering ongoing job skills training and leadership development programs. The company prides itself on promoting from within, providing ample opportunities for career advancement. Employees benefit from comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, and a host of other perks that make employment with FreshPoint rewarding beyond just the paycheck. The schedule includes early morning starts between midnight and 3 AM, with routes lasting approximately 10 hours, ensuring drivers are home in time for dinner. This work-life balance, combined with competitive compensation and benefits, makes FreshPoint a top employer choice for CDL-A and CDL-B drivers in the Avon, MA area.
