The role of CDL Delivery Driver at FreshPoint involves operating delivery vehicles to perform daily routes with frequent stops, ensuring that produce and other products reach customers efficiently and safely. Delivery drivers are responsible for loading packages onto hand trucks, unloading products at designated customer locations, and verifying deliveries through proper documentation and signatures. This position is integral to customer satisfaction, serving as the primary face of the company in the marketplace. Drivers operate within a cross-dock model, picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries and returning empty trucks to the assigned lot after routes. Physical demands include frequent lifting, pushing, and moving of products weighing between 1 and 100 pounds, sometimes in varying weather conditions. Safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations are key components of the job, including pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 year route delivery experience or applicable driving background
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License Class B, Class A preferred
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading
  • Availability for early morning start times between 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM
  • Willingness to work full-time with 10-hour routes
  • Adherence to DOT regulations and company policies
  • Commitment to excellent customer service

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of route delivery experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License Class B required, Class A preferred
  • Ability to read and understand English
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the delivery role
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance

Job Duties

  • Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects
  • Run routes efficiently - meeting or exceeding designated route times
  • Unload product from trailer by hand or using hand cart and place it in designated customer storage areas
  • Frequently lift, push, or move products weighing up to 100 pounds and stack/unstack pallets and hand cart
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Contact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections following DOT regulations and company policies
