FreshPoint is currently hiring local CDL delivery drivers in Avon, MA, offering an exciting opportunity for drivers seeking a reliable, home-daily route with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. This full-time position features early morning start times and 10-hour routes, allowing drivers to be home in time for dinner. Drivers will operate under a cross-dock model, picking up loads from designated locations and delivering them on routes with frequent stops. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service, as drivers will be responsible for unloading and delivering products to customers while maintaining excellent communication and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
The position accepts both CDL-A and CDL-B licensed drivers and offers an average minimum pay of $86,000 annually, with the potential to earn up to $92,000 based on performance and experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of route delivery experience
- Valid CDL Class B license (CDL Class A preferred)
- Ability to read and understand English
- Capable of lifting and moving heavy products up to 100 pounds
- Willingness to work early morning shifts and full-time hours
- Ability to follow DOT regulations and maintain safety standards
Job Qualifications
- High School or GED or equivalent
- 1 year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- Ideal candidate has 1 - 2 years of route delivery experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B (Class A preferred)
- Must be able to read and understand English
Job Duties
- Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects
- Runs routes efficiently - meeting or exceeding designated route times
- Unload product from the trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place it in designated customer storage areas
- Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds
- frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart
- constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer
- Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures
- Contact management for authorization when discrepancies on the invoice and communicate all errors/returns
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures
