The Local CDL Delivery Driver role at FreshPoint involves running daily routes with multiple stops to deliver fresh food products to a variety of customers. Drivers are responsible for loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading products at each stop in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. This position requires operating a designated truck that is domiciled closer to the customer's marketplace rather than from the main operating company, enhancing delivery efficiency. The job requires physical activity such as frequently lifting and moving products weighing up to 100 pounds, navigating ramps, stairs, or docks, and performing tasks in all weather conditions. Drivers must verify deliveries with customers and handle documentation accurately, including managing any discrepancies with invoice authorization through management. Additionally, pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections must be conducted in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and company policies. This is a customer-facing role that demands professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to timeliness. FreshPoint supports its drivers with comprehensive benefits that include healthcare coverage beginning shortly after hire, paid vacation and holidays, incentive earnings, and retirement plans, emphasizing the company’s dedication to employee well-being and financial security. The company operates shifts that start early in the morning to ensure timely deliveries, with routes typically lasting around 10 hours, allowing drivers to be home in time for dinner.
