FreshPoint is currently seeking Local CDL Delivery Drivers based in Avon, MA. This full-time position typically involves early morning starts between 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM, with routes averaging ten hours, allowing drivers to be home in time for dinner. Drivers work daily local routes and have the opportunity to earn an average minimum annual salary of $86,000, with the potential to reach up to $92,000 depending on performance and experience. The role of a Local CDL Delivery Driver at FreshPoint involves operating within a cross-dock model, which includes loading packages onto hand trucks and delivering products to various customers along designated routes. Drivers are highly visible customer-facing representatives responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods. Key responsibilities include unloading products by hand or using hand carts, managing the movement of items weighing between 1 to 75 pounds (and occasionally up to 100 pounds), navigating challenging environments such as ramps, stairs, and docks in various weather conditions, and obtaining proper customer delivery signatures. Drivers must adhere to Department of Transportation regulations by performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and following company policies.
Beyond delivery, drivers may assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other tasks assigned by supervisors or managers. This role requires technical acumen in route navigation, strong customer relations skills, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining the highest standards of service. Job Requirements
- High school or GED or equivalent
- 1 year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- valid commercial driver's license - class B (class A preferred)
- must be able to read and understand English

Job Duties
- Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects
- runs routes efficiently - meeting or exceeding designated route times
- unload product from the trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place it in designated customer storage areas
- frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds
- frequently reach up to 72” to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart
- verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- contact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns
- perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures
