This position is for a Ready Mix/Concrete Truck Operator responsible for operating concrete trucks safely and efficiently, in adherence to company policies and Department of Transportation regulations. The operator will be tasked with transporting ready-mix concrete to various job sites while maintaining vehicle inspections, consistent documentation, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role demands excellent judgment to navigate worksite access, unload concrete appropriately, and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
The operator is required to perform daily preventative maintenance on the vehicle, including fueling, cleaning, and inspecting tires and lights, ensuring the truck’s optimal operation at all times. Pre-trip and post-trip inspections are mandatory to identify and report any mechanical issues, assisting maintenance crews as necessary. Additionally, the operator will visually inspect the consistency of the concrete mix in the mixer and clean the mixer between loads using water hoses. This hands-on responsibility extends also to adhering to lockout/tagout procedures, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory agency guidelines to maintain facility compliance and ensure a safe workplace.
Ideal candidates will have a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and at least one year of experience operating tandem or ready-mix trucks. A safe driving record and active DOT qualification are essential, along with the maturity to work in a team environment and the ability to communicate confidently in English. Self-motivation, professional appearance, customer relation skills, and a commitment to safety protocols are important attributes for success in this role.
Physically, the job requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects, and tolerate extended periods of standing and walking. Operators must work comfortably outdoors under various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and high noise levels. The work schedule includes early mornings, evenings, weekdays, and every other Saturday, requiring flexibility and reliability.
This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a respected industry leader dedicated to safety and quality. Joining Martin Marietta means becoming part of a team that values operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and cultivating a positive work environment.
