CPC Logistics Solutions is a reputable logistics company that specializes in providing reliable and efficient transportation and staffing solutions. The company operates a driver staffing operations center serving the Phoenix, Arizona area, where they connect professional drivers with reputable clients in various sectors of the logistics industry. CPC Logistics is known for its commitment to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace and for supporting its employees with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits packages.
The current job opening is for Shuttle Yard Hostlers based in and around Phoenix and Tolleson, Arizona. This role is crucial for local shuttle and yard hosting operations, focused on completing shuttle runs within a 6-mile radius and managing yard hostling activities across two separate yards. The employment type is full-time with a rotating schedule of four days on and four days off, working primarily night shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM. Drivers will be paid $25.00 per hour with overtime pay after 40 hours each week, and compensation is provided weekly to ensure timely payment. This role is designed for those with local delivery experience since backing trailers and maneuvering in tight yard environments are key components of the duties.
Shuttle Yard Hostlers play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of trailer movements within the designated yards. Given the job's safety-sensitive nature, all company cabs and trucks are equipped with cameras to monitor performance and maintain security standards. This position specifically requires a minimum of 24 months of local tractor-trailer driving experience, and candidates must have valid Arizona Class A CDL licenses. The company emphasizes the importance of safety, ensuring all candidates can meet Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and wear required safety footwear such as composite toe shoes.
The rotating work schedule offers an engaging work-life balance, alternating between weeks with 40 or more hours and weeks with approximately 35 hours. This system supports the well-being of employees by offering predictable time off after each working cycle. CPC Logistics Solutions also provides comprehensive voluntary medical, dental, and vision benefits after 90 days of employment alongside a 401k retirement savings plan, underscoring their commitment to employee health and long-term financial security.
This role not only demands strong driving capabilities and physical stamina but also a proactive approach to operational efficiency and safety. Candidates are required to have recent, verifiable experience in local tractor-trailer driving within the past three years, as the company does not consider over-the-road (OTR) driving experience suitable for this particular role. The successful candidate will demonstrate adaptability to the rotating shift, attention to detail when it comes to yard operations, and a dedication to upholding CPC Logistics Solutions' standards of service excellence and safety. Overall, this position offers a stable career opportunity for qualified local drivers seeking to contribute to a dynamic logistics team in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
