Job Description
This job opening is with a company specializing in waste management and environmental services. The firm is responsible for servicing clients along designated routes by collecting, transporting, and properly disposing of residential, commercial, and industrial waste. This critical industry player operates a fleet of specialized heavy-duty trucks, including front load trucks, that serve various receiving facilities such as transfer stations, material recovery facilities (MRF), landfills, and composting sites. The company prides itself on providing excellent customer service while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental responsibilities. It offers a punctual and structured schedule with potential requirements for weekend, holiday, and overtime shifts, reflecting the continuous nature of waste management operations.
The role of Frontload Driver is essential within this operational framework. This position involves operating a front load truck along a specified route, following precise sequences set by company dispatch. The driver’s primary duty is to collect waste loads safely and transport them to designated disposal or recycling centers. The driver must conduct thorough pre-trip inspections each day to ensure vehicle readiness and safety compliance. Additionally, the position requires maintaining detailed records of daily activities, including hours of service to comply with DOT regulations, safety incidents, and mechanical issues encountered during routes. Frontload Drivers are expected to operate their vehicles defensively and efficiently, minimize equipment wear and tear, and contribute to a respectful workplace by interacting professionally with coworkers, management, and customers.
Candidates for this role need to demonstrate competence with electronic route management technologies within two months of hire, ensuring the ability to report route progress and issues in real-time. The company emphasizes a culture of safety and responsibility, mandating monthly safety meetings and requiring drivers to keep an up-to-date Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and medical certification. Compliance with state and federal regulations is non-negotiable, linking the importance of the driver's role directly to the company’s operational success and community health.
This full-time position is ideal for individuals with previous experience driving medium to heavy trucks and a strong commitment to safe driving practices. The job demands punctuality, independence, and the ability to follow complex instructions accurately. Training and ongoing support are provided to help drivers understand and utilize the technology tools integral to their role. The Frontload Driver position is central to the company’s mission to deliver dependable, environmentally responsible waste collection services while ensuring the safety and satisfaction of its customers and employees alike.
