Job Requirements
- Must hold a commercial driver’s license or chauffeur’s license appropriate for vehicle weight
- must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state Department of Transportation regulations
- must pass DOT physical
- must be at least 21 years old
- ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- ability to travel frequently
- must be clean shaven if required by certain customers
- must be willing to undergo a 10-panel drug screen
- prolonged periods of sitting in a trailer cab
Job Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
- ability to remain focused in a busy environment
- possession of a valid commercial driver’s license or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle weight
- ability to pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state Department of Transportation regulations
- ability to pass DOT physical as trucks driven are over 10,000 pounds
- must be at least 21 years old
- ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- ability to travel frequently
- clean-shaven appearance may be required for certain customer deliveries
- willingness to comply with safety-sensitive job requirements including a 10-panel drug screen
Job Duties
- Operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
- transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations
- deftly maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading areas while following loading crew signals
- assist with loading or personally load and unload goods and materials using specialized equipment when necessary
- unload empty skids and return equipment to designated areas
- maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork and deliver documentation to shipping or appropriate staff upon route completion
- facilitate routine vehicle service including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air
- report maintenance malfunctions to Shipping Supervisor
- arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
- perform other related duties as assigned
