Job Requirements

  • Hold a valid commercial driver's license or chauffeur's license depending on state and vehicle requirements
  • Pass background and drug screening as required by federal or state DOT regulations
  • Pass a DOT physical examination
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Meet customer-mandated grooming standards such as being clean shaven when necessary
  • Commitment to safety-sensitive position conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment
  • Hold a commercial driver's license or chauffeur's license appropriate for vehicle weight
  • Successfully pass background and drug testing as required by federal and state transportation regulations
  • Pass DOT physical examination
  • Be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Must be clean shaven if required by delivery customers
  • Suitable physical stamina for prolonged sitting in trailer cab

Job Duties

  • Operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
  • Transport loads safely and timely over required routes obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas following loading crew signals
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted
  • Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading and required paperwork delivering documentation to appropriate staff
  • Facilitate routine vehicle service including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air and report maintenance issues
  • Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
