The CDL Driver & Delivery Helper position at SRS Distribution is a vital role focused on operating commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently while delivering building materials to various job sites. This job requires adherence to Federal and State regulations, company policies, and a dedicated approach to customer service excellence. The role involves inspecting trucks and trailers for safety, performing pre-trip inspections, loading and unloading materials carefully, and maintaining accurate delivery records. The CDL Driver & Delivery Helper acts as a team player, collaborating closely with other team members to ensure the timely and undamaged delivery of freight.
Beyond routine deliveries, the CDL Driver & Delivery Helper at SRS Distribution will also take responsibility for preparing the truck for upcoming routes, maintaining the vehicle and its equipment in optimal condition, and reporting any incidents involving company vehicles. Physical stamina is essential for lifting heavy materials frequently exceeding 80 pounds and operating specialized boom or crane equipment, offering a challenging yet rewarding work environment. Excellent navigation skills and route management play a key role in this position, as well as maintaining professional communication with customers and management.

- ability to read, write and communicate information accurately
- must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- minimum class B license, class A strongly preferred
- must have a clear three (3) year motor vehicle report (MVR)
- must have overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
- boom or crane experience preferred

Job Duties
- Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation
- perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order
- safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck
- safely deliver and unload materials to an assigned area as directed by the customer
- prepare the truck for the following day and maintain the truck and the equipment
- maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations
- report all accidents involving driver or company equipment
- stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload
- navigate routes to the job site
- excellent customer service skills and professional attitude
