Job Description
The hiring company is a logistics and transportation organization that prioritizes safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Specializing in commercial delivery services, the company operates with a commitment to following all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards. The company serves a range of industries by ensuring timely and accurate shipments, supported by a team of professional drivers who uphold the highest safety and customer service standards. The working environment includes warehouse settings and various weather challenges, making resilience and preparedness essential traits for team members.
The role of CDL Driver is critical to the company’s operational success. This position involves the safe operation of commercial vehicles to deliver products directly to customers or job sites within designated local routes. The CDL Driver not only delivers goods but also represents the company’s brand, emphasizing reliability, trustworthiness, and professionalism. Responsibilities extend beyond driving to include vehicle inspections, load management, accurate documentation, and adherence to all safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, be knowledgeable about FMCSA and DOT regulations, and be capable of physically demanding tasks such as lifting freight up to 100 pounds. This role requires local travel with loading and unloading duties performed at branch locations and customer sites. Workers must be prepared for variable weather conditions and wear personal protective equipment as required.
Employment for this position is full-time, with opportunities to develop within the company for those demonstrating outstanding safety records and customer service skills. The company values continuous improvement and provides a supportive work environment that encourages professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication. CDL Drivers report directly to the Branch Manager but operate with a good deal of independence onsite. The role may include occasional use of equipment such as forklifts and Moffett truck-mounted forklifts, for which certification is desirable. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with no mandatory prior commercial driving experience needed, although it is preferred. Certifications such as Crane Operator License, Forklift Certification, and Moffett Certification are highly valued.
This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Work conditions include warehouse environments with exposure to noise and temperature variations, as well as time spent on the road. Safety is the priority, ensuring not only secure and on-time deliveries but also the wellbeing of all staff and clients. The company is seeking dependable, safety-conscious individuals ready to contribute to a team dedicated to excellence in transportation service.
