The role also includes specialized functions such as handling over-length vehicles, rigging oversize loads, and managing pole deliveries using specialized equipment.
For CDL trainees, the company provides structured on-site or local training to obtain a CDL license, including orientation to various truck types and use of technology such as Drive Cam, Encompass, handheld capture devices, DVIR, and E-log systems. Trainees receive guidance from CDL Driver Mentors to ensure safe and effective training completion. The job also entails occasional responsibilities like Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) duties, order filling, stocking, processing returns, and performing other warehouse functions as assigned.
Border States prioritizes employee safety and requires adherence to strict safety guidelines. Physical requirements include occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 100 pounds, frequent walking, sitting for prolonged periods, and continuous use of hands and fingers for handling and fingering tasks. Employees must demonstrate the ability to work safely under varying weather conditions and must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record. The company embraces diversity, providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a drug-free and smoke-free workplace.
