The role of a CDL-A Driver at Performance Foodservice is crucial to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the country’s food supply chain. These drivers operate tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including intrastate, interstate, shuttle services, and drive-and-drop tasks. They are responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products punctually and safely, ensuring customer satisfaction at every step. This position requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, emphasizing the importance of operational standards and regulatory compliance.

Position details highlight a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend work. Drivers are dispatched early in the morning, around 2 AM, working an average of 10-hour shifts. Compensation begins at $320 per day during training, with a guaranteed minimum of $400 per day on the routes and an average earning potential of approximately $420 daily. The job involves handling touch freight, mixed pallets, and using ramps and hand trucks during daily multi-stop runs servicing over ten customers per day.

This delivery position offers competitive pay and an attractive benefits package from day one, including health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. Employees have the opportunity for career growth within an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment that values recognition, rewards, and respect.

The CDL-A Driver acts as the public face of Performance Foodservice, playing an integral role in relationship-building with customers through professional and courteous service.
