The CDL Class A Route Driver position in St. Louis, MO, is a full-time role typically working Monday through Friday with a starting time of 6 a.m., ensuring drivers return home daily. This role is critical in ensuring the safe transportation, loading, and unloading of compressed gas cylinders and associated materials. Responsibilities include operating a Class B Hazmat vehicle along designated routes, maintaining precise documentation of deliveries, collecting empty cylinders from customers, and adhering to all hazardous materials safety protocols. The driver is also expected to conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip, uphold a professional company representative image, and assist with warehouse equipment operations such as forklifts. The position supports a customer-centric approach, emphasizing excellent service and safety in every interaction. Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid Class A driver’s license
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain it within 60 days
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Minimum one year of Class A professional driving experience within the last five years
  • Successful completion of Airgas background and motor vehicle check
  • DOT Clearinghouse verification required
  • Ability to lift or move 25 to 75 lbs regularly and occasionally over 100 lbs
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
  • Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Adherence to safety regulations and policies
  • Flexible to work overtime as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Forklift experience
  • Touch freight delivery experience
  • Valid Class A driver’s license

  • Ability to lift 25 to 75 lbs regularly and occasionally 76 to over 100 lbs

Job Duties

  • Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes
  • Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries for customer satisfaction
  • Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures
  • Handle loading and unloading of all materials
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance
  • Maintain professional appearance and represent the company during deliveries
