The position of Driver, Formula CDL-A, is vital to the food supply chain. This role requires a skilled and dependable driver to handle a tractor trailer or straight truck across various routes including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive-and-drop routes. Their primary responsibility is timely and safe delivery of food and related products to customers, strictly following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety guidelines. The driver is the face of the company at customer sites, establishing long-term relationships through professionalism and excellent service.

The driver job involves not only transportation but also extensive safety checks and inspections of the vehicle before and after trips. Drivers must ensure all equipment and freight are properly secured, perform accurate delivery paperwork, and handle cash or checks when needed. They are also responsible for unloading products, managing damaged goods and returns according to company policies, and maintaining cleanliness at the loading docks and their vehicles. The shifts average 10-12 hours and are scheduled without Sunday work, with days off split during the week based on business needs. Dispatch hours typically occur between 12 AM and 5 AM depending on the assigned route. Performance Foodservice seeks candidates with at least 12 months of commercial driving experience and a valid CDL-A license.
