This position is that of a CDL-A Driver, an essential role filling a critical part of America’s food supply chain. The successful candidate will operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight shifts. These drivers ensure the timely and safe delivery of food and related products to a wide range of customers. This job entails much more than driving: the CDL-A Driver is the face of the company during deliveries, building and maintaining strong customer relationships through professionalism and excellent service.
Performance Foodservice offers competitive pay starting with a guaranteed training pay of $1,500 per week, and after training, drivers can expect to earn an average of $100,000 annually. The role comes with a varying schedule and currently includes a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 based on experience. The company emphasizes a supportive, inclusive, and safety-conscious work environment. Benefits start from day one and include health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, among others.
Drivers are responsible for performing all required safety inspections on vehicles and loads, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The job requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift and handle product cases typically ranging from 10 to 90 pounds.
Overall, this CDL-A Driver role at Performance Foodservice is a vital career opportunity for professional drivers who value stability, growth, and being part of a company dedicated to helping businesses succeed while ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of essential food products.
