Job Description
Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading broadline distributor that has established a distinct and trusted relationship with a diverse range of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. This company prides itself not only on delivering high-quality food products but also on offering expert guidance and support to its clients through a dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and specialists who assist customers in enhancing their operations, developing menus, selecting products, and strategizing for greater operational efficiency. Performance Foodservice is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment that values growth, rewards, and respect for its employees.
The company is currently seeking responsible and dedicated CDL-A Delivery Drivers to join their team. This role offers guaranteed training pay of $1,500 per week and an average annual salary of $100,000 after training completion. Additional incentives include a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000, depending on experience, along with a varying schedule to accommodate diverse operational needs. Drivers will benefit from a comprehensive compensation package, including Day 1 health and wellness benefits, access to the Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. The company also emphasizes safe and inclusive working conditions, promoting a culture of recognition and respect.
The CDL-A Driver plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability and efficiency of the country’s food supply chain by ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food products to customers. Drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight shifts. The job requires adherence to strict Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, performing regular vehicle inspections, securing freight, and managing all delivery-related documentation accurately. Beyond just transportation, drivers serve as ambassadors of the company’s values, building and maintaining positive customer relationships through professional communication and reliable service.
In this role, drivers are responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering food and related products while ensuring product integrity and safety throughout the delivery process. They conduct thorough safety and damage inspections, handle transactions including cash or checks where required, and maintain comprehensive records such as hours of service logs and delivery paperwork. The role demands physical stamina for lifting and maneuvering products of varying weights, using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of vehicles and loading areas. Drivers must also complete end-of-shift tasks including securing equipment and documentation.
Performance Foodservice values diversity and provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. They uphold policies to ensure pay transparency and compliance with all relevant labor laws.
This CDL-A Driver position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a rewarding career in logistics and food service delivery, backed by a supportive employer dedicated to employee development and customer satisfaction. The combination of competitive pay, benefits, and a positive work environment make it an ideal choice for qualified professionals looking to contribute to America's food distribution system while advancing their own careers.
