Job Description

PFG Customized Distribution is a premier food distribution company renowned for catering to the specialized needs of some of America's most iconic national chain restaurants. Among its notable clients are Cracker Barrel, TGI Friday's, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and Ruby Tuesday. With a commitment to delivering excellence, PFG Customized Distribution provides centralized coordination for product lines, menu updates, and account management. This extensive service footprint stretches across the United States and extends to more than 40 countries worldwide, positioning the company as a key player in the global food supply chain.

This exceptional reach and focus enable PFG Customized Distribution to maintain the highest standards of customer service and operational efficiency, ensuring clients receive timely and quality food products tailored to their unique specifications. The company fosters a culture grounded in safety, respect, and inclusivity, championing employee well-being through a comprehensive suite of benefits and growth opportunities. It is dedicated to nurturing talent while adhering to all industry regulations to uphold its reputable standing.

The role offered is an entry-level Driver Trainee position, designed to provide foundational training and hands-on experience in safely operating commercial trucks such as tractor trailers and straight trucks. The driving assignments encompass intrastate, interstate, local routes, shuttle, over-the-road, and overnight deliveries, particularly focusing on the transportation of food and food-related products to various customers. This position is integral to supporting America's food distribution network, ensuring the prompt and safe delivery of products that keep national food service establishments operational.

The Driver Trainee will engage in a comprehensive training program, including the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training course, which prepares candidates with essential skills and regulatory knowledge. This role requires the individual to perform vehicle safety inspections, maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and execute efficient delivery and unloading procedures. Professional interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers is a critical component, requiring clear communication and adherence to company service standards.

Additionally, the position features a four-night work week with evening dispatch hours between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., underscoring a work-life balance approach while guaranteeing a competitive weekly minimum pay between $1,450 and $1,700, translating into an annual salary range from $80,000 to $90,000. Employees are further incentivized through a $2,500 referral bonus program and are welcomed into a supportive environment with day one health and wellness benefits, a stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and integrity in all operations, including cargo securing, product handling (which includes lifting and moving freight cases typically weighing between 60 and 90 pounds), and record-keeping compliant with federal and state regulations. Trainees work closely with seasoned driver trainers to gain essential on-the-road experience and safety practices, ensuring readiness for future advancement within the company. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals seeking a stable career in the transportation and logistics sector within a well-established food distribution enterprise.
