The company maintains a unique and deep-rooted relationship with a wide variety of local customers that include independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and quick-service eateries. With a strong and dynamic team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts, Performance Foodservice goes beyond simple product delivery to offer value-added services such as operational advice, menu development, and product selection strategies. This collaborative approach is aimed at enhancing customer operations and helping independent restaurant owners and foodservice providers succeed in their businesses. The company prides itself in delivering not just high-quality food products but also in building lasting partnerships with its clientele by consistently offering expert guidance and exceptional service.
The role being offered is that of a CDL-A Delivery Driver, a crucial position within the Performance Foodservice logistics and operational team. The driver is an essential link in the nation’s food supply chain, tasked with transporting food and related products safely and efficiently to a variety of customers. The position offers an average annual pay ranging typically from $80,000 to $90,000, depending on the assigned route. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with early morning dispatches between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM and routes lasting about 12 to 13 hours. Benefits begin from day one, emphasizing the company’s commitment to its employees’ health and well-being.
As a CDL-A Delivery Driver, the individual will operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local and interstate routes, including over-the-road runs, overnight trips, and shuttle services. Safety, professionalism, and customer interaction are paramount as the drivers are often the face of the company at the customer’s location. They are expected to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, ensure freight is properly loaded and secured, and complete all necessary paperwork meticulously. Additionally, they will be responsible for unloading products, verifying deliveries, collecting payments where required, and maintaining the cleanliness and security of trailers and equipment.
This role offers not only steady and competitive compensation with strong benefits but also growth opportunities within a reputable company that values safety, inclusiveness, and recognition. Employees are supported in their career paths and further education, reflecting Performance Foodservice’s mission to foster a rewarding and respectful work environment. Those with prior commercial driving experience and a commitment to customer service will find this position rewarding and integral to the success of the company’s food distribution operations.
