The Driver Trainee role at Performance Foodservice represents an exceptional entry-level opportunity designed for individuals aiming to launch a professional driving career within the logistics and food distribution sector. This role involves comprehensive training programs, including the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, equipping candidates with the essential skills required to operate tractor trailers and straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries. The position demands delivering a variety of food and food-related products safely and efficiently on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. Trainees are tasked with mastering all aspects of truck operation, safety compliance, and customer service to transition into full driving responsibilities.

Performance Foodservice emphasizes safety and regulatory compliance in all operations. The Driver Trainee will perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company standards to maintain the highest safety levels. This includes inspecting vehicles and trailers, ensuring freight is properly loaded and secured, and accurately completing all required documentation.
