Job Description
Performance Food Group Customized Distribution (PFG Customized Distribution) is a premier foodservice distributor specializing in serving some of America’s most recognized national chain restaurants such as Cracker Barrel, TGI Friday’s, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and Ruby Tuesday. With a commitment to delivering customized attention and centralized contact for product lines, menu changes, and account coordination, PFG Customized Distribution plays a vital role in the foodservice supply chain, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food products to a wide-ranging customer base across the United States and more than 40 countries globally. The company prides itself on fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful working environment that values teamwork, rewards performance, and supports employee growth and development.
The CDL-A Driver position at PFG Customized Distribution is a critical role responsible for driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks to deliver and unload food products safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This full-time, team-driving role operates from Monday to Friday with dispatch times typically scheduled between 11 pm and 2 am. The position offers competitive compensation, including an average annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 and a weekly minimum guaranteed pay of $1,350. New hires may also be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $7,500 for candidates with foodservice delivery experience, or $5,000 for those without such experience.
As one of the essential frontline workers in America’s food distribution system, the CDL-A Driver represents the company’s face to its customers, ensuring products arrive on schedule in good condition, while building strong and lasting customer relationships. Duties include performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections, adhering to company safety policies and DOT regulations, accurately completing required paperwork, and responsibly handling freight including unloading, securing, and delivering items. Drivers must verify deliveries through proper signatures, collect payments when necessary, and maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas. This role requires physical stamina to handle lifting product cases weighing between 10 to 90 pounds, often using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates.
In addition to a competitive salary and excellent benefits starting from day one, PFG Customized Distribution offers various employee perks including an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K with employer matching, education assistance programs, and paid time off. The company supports career growth opportunities for drivers committed to contributing to the safe and reliable delivery of foodservice products. PFG Customized is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, welcoming all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, national origin, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic.
